Hodges Open $100,000 Trailer Court

A trailer court, motel and fishing camp is being constructed by Edward Hodges and his son, Fred, across the Taylor Creek bridge southeast of Okeechobee, on the north side or U. S. Highway 441.

The Hodges have hem residents of Florida since 1922 and operate a real estate office ln Hollywood. They bought the 50 acre tract from Kenneth Wood and will spend $100,000 in improvements.

Since taking over, the Hodges family has built roads. Three canals and deepened Mosquito Creek, which is the north boundary of their development. The fishing camp and store building are being erected by Ronnie Watts, an Okeechobee contractor.

Already in operation, the Hodges have installed 18 trailers and expect to have the work completed in time for the winter season. They also intend to open a branch realty office in Okeechobee.¹⁹
