John Buchanan was born on 23 January 1783.1 He died on 24 March 1865 at age 82.1 He was a witness November term,1805 [of County Cmmissioners], The bond of Levi Rogers, sheriff-elect, was received and approved, and contained the following securities, - William Smith, James Sargent, John Boultinghouse, Abraham Wood, James South, John Sargent, George Brown, William Buchanan, John Wood, and David Wood, all solid men of those days,-and was in the sum of four thousand dollars. with John Wood in November 1805 at Clermont, Ohio, USA.2
