Richard Hamilton Dowling, 26, former resident here, died suddenly yesterday morning at University hospital ln Philadelphia following an operation, it was learned here today.
He left this city three years ago and entered the manufacturing business in Bluefield. W. Va. Last June he married Miss Alice Pilkington of this city.
Dowling was graduated from the local high school ln 1928 and attended the Junior college here. He was graduated from Georgia Tech in 1933.
Survivors Include his widow; his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Dowling. 7101 Ninth Avenue north, this city, a brother. M. C. Dowling Jr, Tampa, and a sister, Mrs. L. F. Poole, this city.
The body will be returned to this city for funeral services and burial. Arrangements wlll be announced later by the Wilhelm Funeral home.4,2,5 He was buried after 20 November 1936 at Royal Palm South Cemetery, Saint Petersburg, Pinellas, Florida, USA.6

Henrietta Ellen Googe was born in 1842based on age in 1880 census. She was born on 3 September 1848 (an unknown value.)3 She married Oliver Perry Dowling, son of John Jabez Dowling and Susan Barnes, circa 1869. OLIVER PERRY DOWLING next married Reverend William Googe's daughter, Henrietta, about the year 1869. A memorial article some fifty years later described her charming manners and quiet modesty. She and PERRY were Methodists; people described him as one of the most moral men they had ever known. He lived in the Hampton County area his entire life.4 Henrietta Ellen Googe died on 26 November 1918 at Hampton, South Carolina, USA, at age 70. Date from tombstone.
