Rachel Cochrane and John Lamar: John Lamar was probably the fourth child of Thomas Latnar II. He was born April 22nd, 1713. His wife's name was Rachel, but her surname is not known He, also, sold his inherited lands in Maryland in 1755 and with his brothers moved to South Carolina. He received a grant of 300 acres of land on Beaver Dam Creek in 1757, hut in 1759 he moved to Georgia where he received a grant of land adjoining that of his brother, Alexander Lamar. At the time of his arrival in Georgia one of his ehildren still lived at home, the other sons being evidently married and away from home. The time of his death is not knoown, although he is known to have been alive in 1771 when he executed a deed correcting a mistake in the conveyance of the Maryland lands which he had sold in 1755. His children were Zachariah, John Jr., Thomas, Basil, and Jeremiah.4 Her married name was Lamar.

The house was located near Savannah River (Georgia side) it was located on GA-221 which crosses Savannah River and goes on to Modoc SC & Clarks Hill SC.- where they would load the cotton bales and send them down river to Augusta, GA, to Cotton Exchange to be sold.4

Whereas, Frederick McDaniel and Sahderick Holmes, have applied to me for Letters of Administraiton on all an dsingular the goods and chattles, rights and credits of Elizabeth Holmes, late of the said District deceased, deceased.
There are therefore to cite and admonish all and singular, the kindred and creditors of the said deceased, to be and appear before me, at our next Ordinary's Court for the said District to be holden at Edgefield Court House on the 7th day of December, next., to show cause, if any, why the said Administration should not be granted.
Given under my hand and seal this 23rd day of November, one thousand eight hundred and fourty, and in the sixty-fifth year of American Independence.

It has been reported that John and Sara were married on 26 FEB 1782 in Augusta VA but NC records indicate they were married in Orange Co. NC. In either event, Sarah Guinn cannot be the daughter of this couple since she was born about 1733 and married in 1754.1,2 John Guinn appeared on the census of 23 April 1910 in the household of Decanie Dexter Dowling at Goethe Township, Hampton, South Carolina, USA.3
