     He Caspar Diefenbach, Jr. was born about 1727 in Graben (Graben-Neudorf), Germany, the son of Kaspar Diefenbach, Sr. and Eva Katharina Pfeil. His father immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1750, later followed by his wife and children. Caspar Diefenbach, Jr. was married on 22 April 1754 to Catharina Mischler, who had also come from the Durlach area of Germany. He moved from Lancaster County, PA to Colerain/Providence Township area of Bedford County, PA. He is said to have built the Defibaugh Tavern, along with his son, John, and perhaps his son Jacob. His children included Johannes/John born 16 March 1756, Elisabetha born 5 February 1757, Jacob born about 1759, Adam born about 1761, Susanna born January 1765, and Daniel born about 1769. Caspar Tiefenbach, Jr. died about 1799. He is said to have been buried in the vicinity of the tavern, which is located on the north side of route 30, east of Bedford, PA.
