     Jeriah Wood was born in 1760.³ He was the son of John Wood Sr. and Hannah (?).^1,2 Jeriah Wood and Mary Manning date of marriage and order of children is not known. Jeriah Wood married Mary Manning, daughter of Nathan Manning and Jane (?), circa 1785 at Mifflin, Pennsylvania.³ Jeriah Wood left a will in 1805 at Clermont, Ohio.³ He died before 13 September 1806 at Clermont, Ohio; his estate was sold 13 sep 1806.¹

     Elizabeth Wood was born circa 1785. She was the daughter of Jeriah Wood and Mary Manning.¹

     Abraham Wood was born circa 1801. He was the son of Jeriah Wood and Mary Manning.¹

     Rachel Wood was born on 18 November 1802 at Clermont, Ohio. She was the daughter of Jeriah Wood and Mary Manning.¹ As of 22 February 1824,her married name was Emmons. Rachel Wood married Jonathan E Emmons on 22 February 1824 at Clermont, Ohio. Rachel Wood died on 4 December 1890 at age 88.

      Jane Abrams was also known as Abrahams.² She was born after 1770; Died in 1854, aged eighty-four years, and for the last fifty years of her life had lived on the Joseph Barkley place.¹ She married William Buchanan, son of Alexander Buchanan and Margaret (?), in 1789; William Buchanan died in 1805. He was married in 1789 to Jane Abrams, and had a family of four children, -- Enoch, James, Margaret, and Jane.

Both the sons moved to Illinois before 1836. Margaret married John Wood, and Jane became the wife of Samuel Richards.^1,3 As of before 1792,her married name was Buchanan.¹ Jane Abrams The widow Buchanan maintained that relation six years, when she married Absalom Wood, being twelve years his senior. she died in 1854, aged eighty-four years, and for the last fifty years of her life had lived on the Joseph Barkley place.

The original Buchanan farm is now occupied by J.R. Brown, at the Calvary meeting-house.

The widow Buchanan was the possessor of more than ordinary courage,and well calculated to endure the hardships through which she passed as the first woman in Washington, if not, indeed, in the county. In 1801, in the company of her brother and others, she made a trip to her old home in Pennsylvania, going up the Ohio in a small boat, doing the cooking for the men as they landed, and completing the remainder of the journey from Pittsburgh on horseback.

By her marriage with Absalom Wood she had three children, -- Florella C., who married Joseph Barkley, and died on the homestead; John H., who married Mary Barkley, and yet resides in the townsip near Neville; and William H., who married a daughter of Dowry Utter, and died in Washington in the fall of 1879.³ Her married name was Wood.¹ She married Absalom Wood, son of John Wood and Margaret Grimes, after 1805 at Clermont, Ohio.¹ Jane Abrams died in 1854.¹
