     Mary Louise Dowling is the daughter of Herbert Lewis Dowling and Anna Ruth Flood.

He was born at Ohio; this birthplace is from a census report and differs from original birth record. He was born on 26 September 1874 at Windsor, Shelby, IL; birth in Illinois was recorded in Clermont Co. Ohio records. Lived there unitl his death.⁸ He was occupation farmer of citrus grove on 14 April 1930 at Fellsmere, Indian River, Florida.⁹ He and Mabel Maud McCord appeared on the census of 15 April 1930 at Fellsmere, Indian River, Florida.⁹ Walter George Wood I remember seeing a house that I was told Walter George Wood (my grandfather) grew up in. This was probably in 1954 or 1958. The house was one mile east of Felicity, Franklin Township, OH, formerly owned by staunch Abolitionist, Jonathan P. Myers. Built before the Civil War, the Myers brick and frame house served as a "safe house" link in the "under-ground railway" for escaping slaves on their way to freedom. The bricks in the house were made from the clay beds on the farm and burned in Myers' own kiln. The secret cellar hide-away so carefully built under the house was accessible only through a small trap door in the kitchen, concealed underneath Mrs. Myers' flour barrel! Ventilation for the secret "dungeon" room was cunningly provided by laying the brick walls in a zigzag pattern, so that air was admitted, but no light. George A. Wood and his wife sold this farm in 1891 shortly before the family moved to Science Hill, KY in 1958.⁴ He died on 2 June 1959 at Fellsmere, Indian River, FL, at age 84. He was buried on 4 June 1959 at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach, Indian River, FL.

     Her married name was Wood. Mabel Maud McCord was born on 8 November 1885 at Exira, Audubon, IA. She was the daughter of Samuel Quinn McCord and Hester Mary Hill.¹ Mabel Maud McCord married Walter George Wood, son of George Absalom Wood and Lucy Ann Turner, on 24 January 1909 at Sioux City, Woodbury, IA. Mabel Maud McCord lived in 1918 at Fellsmere, St. Lucie, FL; Moved from Souix City, Iowa to Fellsmere, Florida in 1918. Resided in Fellsmere until her death. She and Walter George Wood appeared on the census of 15 April 1930 at Fellsmere, Indian River, Florida.² Her Social Security Number was SSDI before 1951 at 266-20-2320. Mabel Maud McCord died on 13 February 1968 at Royal Palm Convalescent Center, Vero Beach, Indian River, FL, at age 82. She was buried on 16 February 1968 at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach, Indian River, FL.

Carol Ann Barfield married Walter Dowling Wood, son of Clifford Ray Wood and Saidee Elise Dowling, on 21 December 1975 at Orlando, Orange, Florida.¹ Carol Ann Barfield and Walter Dowling Wood were divorced in May 1985 at Orlando, Orange, FL. Carol Ann Barfield married Craig McCann circa 1987 at Orlando, Orange, FL.

     Sylvia Marie Ventura is the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Ventura and Jacqueline Helen Zoz. Sylvia Marie Ventura married Michael R. Cleary on 21 September 1968 at Cincinatti, Hamilton, Ohio.      Her married name was Ventura. Mary Virginia Yacchari was born on 19 December 1910 at Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio. She was the daughter of Peter Yacchari and Catherine Devoto. Mary Virginia Yacchari married Benjamin Ventura, son of John Ventura and Jennie Ventura, before 1931. Mary Virginia Yacchari also went by the name of "Nana". She died on 12 July 1983 at Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio, at age 72.

     John Jabez Dowling was born on 15 January 1782 at Jeffries Creek, SC.¹ He was the son of James Dowling R.S. and Mary 'Polly' Boutwell. John Jabez Dowling lived in 1807; Residence Brunson, SC probably arrived in Beaufort District as early as 1807.¹ He witnessed the Milt-Note of an unknown person in 1812; Fought in War of 1812 (as soldier in Lowe's Company of Colonel Youngblood's Regiment.¹ He married Susan Barnes, daughter of Theophilus Barnes and (?) Sauls, on 13 February 1812 at Beaufort, SC; Mar. Susan Barnes Feb 12, 1812, during second war with British.¹ John Jabez Dowling witnessed the Milt-Note of an unknown person circa 1842; Fought in Mexican War at age greater than 60.¹ He died on 16 February 1866 at Brunson, SC, at age 84.

     James Marvin Barfield is the son of Edward Barfield and Florence Ware. James Marvin Barfield married Joyce Elizabeth McLeod, daughter of Randolf Phillip McLeod and Doris Shaw, on 17 April 1954 at St. Cuthberts Church, Monreal, Quebec, Canada.
